Falls and Fractures
In the February 2024 edition of JAMA Ophthalmology, Jung Yin Tsang and colleagues published a study that showed that people with cataract, age-related macular degeneration, and glaucoma are at increased risk for both falls and fractures.
While it is seemingly obvious, these sorts of data are important to publish as they establish the impact that ophthalmologic diseases can have. If someone is more likely to fall because of a cataract, we should get that cataract out of their eye!
