My Kingdom for Betadine

One of the most common complaints in my office is that people don’t like betadine in the eye. It burns like crazy! This is a well known fact; betadine does not feel good.

But we need it! Betadine is one of the most well-known antiseptics, and, out of all available measures to decrease the likelihood of infection, it is one of the best studied and effective. So, while it definitely doesn’t feel good, it is absolutely a great thing if you don’t want an eye infection. I may have mentioned this before, but I hear complaints about it all the time, so the importance of betadine needs to be re-emphasized and repeated.
