Nice Space Helmet!
I think that I have discussed this before, but it bears discussion again since a young patient of mine really noticed it this week. The patient in question is younger than 10 years old, which may give insight into his reaction. As I was examining him, he noticed that I was putting on an indirect ophthalmoscope. The indirect ophthalmoscope is a device that has eyepieces that are secured on a ring that spans around on the sides and back of the head.
“Nice space helmet!” he exclaimed. Well, I don’t plan on launching beyond the stratosphere in it, but if it helps him cooperate with the exam, I’m all for the reaction.
