Cosmetic Contact Lenses

One thing that is very important to know about contact lenses is that contact lenses are medical devices. They need to be fitted to the eyeball to make sure that they are proper for that individual person. People also need instructions on how to use them. Using contact lenses improperly (especially those that may fit improperly) can lead to devastating and blinding eye complications. I recently heard about a case of someone who got a cornea infection. She purchased the contact lenses at a beauty store; the contact lenses were not dispensed by someone who was trained in fitting contact lenses and no instructions on use were given. Corneal infections are definitely not a joke, and we should take contact lenses seriously.
