What do you believe?

I recently saw a video that said that we should all start with “why.” In the context of the video, it seemed to mean that we should tell people what we believe in, since that is what motivates us to do what we do. Rather than telling people “what” we do, we should tell them why we do it.

Why I do what I do: I want to make people see like they’ve never seen before. I believe in doing things for my patients to get “wow” reactions. Is that always within the realm of possibility? No. But I believe in technological advancement, and I believe that our surgeries will get better and better. I dream that one day, amazing vision will be something I can always deliver. In the meanwhile? I still believe that we can get a lot of “wow” reactions with our current technology, and I still operate to give people the kind of vision they never imagined they could have.
